New Dress Code & Job Changes??

I work for Michaels. Most people know that. Lately, over the past 6 months or so, the corporate office has brought big changes to the stores. Most of the things include cleaning (above and beyond). Sadly it didn't include the bathrooms LOL

This also meant our classroom programs shutdown almost completely. I have become a Wilton Method Instructor. This means that I will be teaching cake decorating classes for adults and kids, by the end of August. I love that I found a way to do something I enjoy again. I enjoy teaching others the crafts I enjoy.

The changes from corporate will now include a dresscode change, not paid for by corporate of course. It doesn't surprise us, it is just one more way that we feel used and abused as employees. The test stores for the idea, were given shirts. The new roll-out to the whole company will mean about $50 to $100 out-of-pocket to people working only 15-30 hours a week, at nearly min. wage for most.

Yeah, it's tax deductible, but most employees at this pay level do not itemize, so that is a mute point.

Anyhoo... we shall see how this pans out, by sept. 1st.

As for me, I keep putting off the idea that I need to figure out some more income. Whether that be teaching classes at Joanns, teaching wilton classes and remaining at michaels as an Event Coordinator, or possibly doing both; I just don't know. I am a horrible procrastinator (sp).

I always feel like things will work out, and will be what was meant to be. It works for me, but it sure is a stressful way to live sometimes.

Wow... I sure am rambling.

Oh, and I could discuss my thoughts about writing to my SIL (the inmate, meth addict, person God says I should forgive... )
UGH!
Not today!
