Oh my! Oh my!! I just finished signing Jarod (11 yrs) up for football. Now, let me explain a little. I broke my arm, playing flag football in PE, back in high school. I have loved watching my kids play sports and seen my fair share of injuries. Football has always been my worry for my kids to play.
I am a little nervous, but I think of my two boys, Jarod will be the one to play football well. He has a temper! He has the brains to play smart! I would not want to be the kid on the other side of the trash talkin'.
Jordan is our basketball / baseball kid. Jarod played two years of little league, but simply doesn't enjoy playing it much. He prefers to sit on the sidelines and listen to the coaches. He can explain why things happen, yet doesn't want to make a play himself.
Jordan on the other hand, get enjoyment from basketball and is SO talented in baseball. :)
Meghan played one year of tee-ball, but hasn't wanted to play again. I got to coach her and Jarod, and that was a blast for me.
I find that sports is simply another opportunity for me to enjoy the differences in each of my kids personalities!
Life is a constant learning process. We learn about friends, family, love, & laughter. We go through the ups and downs of happy and sad times. Somedays emotionally, mentally, and physically draining. If I learn nothing else in life, I hope that I learn to cherish the moments! I want to remember to see things, as I did through my kids eyes. Everything new, everything an amazing wonder! Always something to be explored, even if it is only an ant crawling on the sidewalk!

Yesterday, I took the kids to Lowe's to make the free kids project.
We then decided to go to the beach for the day. Now, Oregon beaches are just "been there, done that" to us, but we made the trek simply to get outta the house. We hit a little seasonal weekend traffic, but made our way to Lincoln City within about 2 hours. We ended up REALLY enjoying ourselves.
Some around us, probally thought my kids had never seen sand, the way they acted. Jarod wanted to roll in the warm sand. It was a cloud covered horizon, but blue skies above us that. We climbed the rocks and checked out the various rock dwelling clam like shells and the sea urchins too. The seagulls cracked us up, surfing the waves and what not.
I think this is the pic that I tried to get the surfing seagull in the background.
So now it is Sunday afternoon, and we are heading to my sisters house to BBQ. I made my potato salad. YUMMY!! I have chicken marinating too. Last week we found "Turkey Cheese Dogs", and since we are on the turkey vs. beef kick, we tried them. They are pretty good. I prefer a tougher skin on my hotdog, but other than that... these are good. :)
Happy Memorial Day Ya'll!!

Wow, it's been almost a week...
This week went by so quickly. It was nothing special, but just a good week. The stress level at work is getting under control. We are getting out and enjoying more and more outdoor activities, in the warming weather.
I am off for a 2nd weekend in a row!! WOOHOO!
I am taking the kids to Lowe's in the morning to make an "emergency preparedness" kit. Lowe's (and Home depot for that matter) do free wooden projects, for kids. We did alot of HD's, when the kids were little. Now we pick and choose, when I am off and Jordan's doesn't have a game too early. Anyhoo... that should be fun for Jarod and Meghan.
We plan to BBQ with my sister and her family on Sunday evening. Then back to work for Sean and I on Monday.
I am now off to find a craft for Meghan to make... something flag related... maybe a windsock or wind-chime to hang on the porch. :)
Hugs to all...

weekend plans
My weekend has been great so far. Yesterday consisted of a day off from work, 3 of 4 games score keeping for Sean's softball tournament, a trip to the kiddy playground with my family and my sisters family, then home for a relaxing short nap, and finally a dinner out with just Sean and I. Oh, and a SUNBURN even after sunlotion was applied. BTW... I have got to remember to layer on the lotion more evenly. You would think a red-head with fair-skin, who has a dad and grandma with skin spots would remember better.
I have waves of burn on my legs, where I rubbed not so well. LOL
I also have the funny T-shirt lines, because THANK GOD I decided to wear a t-shirt instead of a tank, just before leaving.
Ok... enough info.
The weather is going to be in the mid to upper 80's today. Jordan has a baseball game. Sean is at his tournament again, they lost 4 games yesterday... but started off this morning with a win. Today is double elimination, for those that know what that means. :)
I was going to take the kids to play tennis today too... but I don't think my upper arm would agree now. We bought 3 more rackets, so we all have them now. :)
I hope to get out quite a bit this summer. I think I will still take the kids today, just not my racket.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Two posts today... LOL
I finished a 3.2 mile walk today. My legs are beginning to feel it too. LOL
I am now working at 5pm too. Darn employees who call in sick, and dumb me for answering my phone on my day off. UGH!!
Oh well... I get Friday afternoon off now instead.
So... Here is what I worked on today.
http://www.scrapbook-crazy.com/how-to-make-a-waterfall-scrapbook.html
I found this idea awhile ago. I printed it and put the instructions on my scrapbook table, where they were quickly consumed into the mess. I was cleaning up my table and pulled out the idea.
I am using this waterfall book to allow me to make just a few layouts from Christmas, instead of the ALBUM I have done in the past. I am into the crafting side of scrapbooking again, but the production of 5 hundread pages is just too much. So... This will attach to my layout, and I won't loose any photos but will gain SPACE!!

I did note that the instructions said to NOT use bulky embellishment in the pages of the mini book. I however didn't have issue with the pop dot style ones that I did decide to try. :)

I have been playing here this morning. Ok... so I set my alarm wrong last night. Jordan luckily woke up at 10 minutes to 8am. The elementary school starts at 8am. ACK!! Freak out and a little stressed raised voice... the kids were in the car and nearly on time to school. Fruit loop cereal bars stuffed in the mouth. LOL
I came home, got a call from work... (my day off) "Can you close tonight, Lisa called in" UGH!! Ok... so yeah... I am covering yet ANOTHER fellow employee shift. This is a real sucky pattern, but atleast the Manager and asst. Manager are as frustrated as I am. So anyhoo... I agreed to work an evening shift, and get off on Friday afternoon, before my weekend off. It sometimes works out to trade things around. :)
I then got a call from the school. Jarod was already in the nurses office. OH MY GOSH, the boy wasn't there for 40 minutes. LOL I think we are all feeling the effects of a cold coming on... and he loves ANY excuse to get outta class. I again, for the 15th time, explained to the office staff that they need to tell him "If you don't have a fever, STAY IN CLASS!" (Ok, yeah, not long ago he throw up in class, order these orders.)
(hold on, wet nose on my arm... requesting an open door) Hee-hee!
Ok... the Camel (Lucy our Lab) has filled her belly with water. LOL
Today... will now include a busy schedule of scrapbooking, then a walk for health with a friend, and some good ol fashion retail work in the evening. I plan to come home and watch the final season show of "Lost". Woohoo!! What a day. LOL
Oh yeah... the start of this... (fellow scrapbookers) You can check out that link I started with, for some really good sketches from Becky Fleck's Blog. :)
Hugs to all!

It's a good week... after all...
This week is ending well... it had quite a few bumps but I feel good today. Maybe because it is sunny outside after a week of rainy downpours from above. Maybe because I got off work 3 hours early (I worked late, earlier in the week and had to cut hours today... bummer!)
I just finished running down the checkbook and paying the bills... AND I still have $$ in there. WOOHOO!! Time to go food shopping!!
Meghan is at a sleepover, and I miss her!! She is my shopping buddy. LOL
The boys are our in Tigard, at Jordan's away baseball game. I guess one of the coaches grabbed one of the boys during the game, in frustration. UGH! This guy is a cop too, he should be under better control of himself. :(
Let's see... Oh, sad alert here... my neighbors lost their 3 week old pug puppies in a freak water accident this week. They were drowned in their little wading pool, which was used to hold them in the kitchen while their human parents were at work. The pug daddy bit a whole in the refrigerator supply line beside the frig. That sadly wasn't found before it filled the pool and drown the poop puppies. :(
They have horrible water damage, but the loss of the puppies is one of those WHY GOD? kind of things. :(
I got my garden tilled and planted, along with filling a "Topsy Turvy" with a tomato plant. The rain came in all week though, and I am now hoping I didn't plant to early.
Work was crazy, busy, stressful, and still a little enjoyable this week. I am thankful for bonuses that were a surprise (known, but forgotten about). Those are always a blessing and extrememly good right now with growing mouths to feed. :)
Well... that's my week.
Hugs to all... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to my fellow mommies!!

Mother's Day is coming...
Yep... Mother's day is coming. Michaels has had events each night, this week, for free craft projects. I brought home a set for my kids to do, from the Sunday evening craft. It's a ceramic plate with spaces on the edge for ribbon to thread. It has a plastic cover sheet to put over a photo in the center of the plate.
Anyhoo... you might want to check into your local Michaels, with a kiddo you know. :)
I was sent an email with a blog I should check out. The blog is...
http://www.allcrafts.net/f.php?url=myplumpudding.blogspot.com/2008/11/embroidered-hand-prints.html
Just the best idea for Meghan to make something for the grandmas in her life. I did handprints craft often, when the kids were younger. I even did a scrapbook layout with just their handprints and no photos. I can now use one of those projects as a pattern for this art idea.
My thought is to teach Meghan a few stitch techniques. I already taught her a basic running stitch. (She made a purse and than stitched the SB layout for that too)
You can check that out here... (bottom photo of this blog post)

Anyhoo... I should get off and go help Sean clean out the gutters. The rain (downpours) have filled our gutters with crap (winter cleanout not done yet too), and now the kitchen ceiling has water damage. We think the gutter is allowing water to backup and soak the roofing materials. UGH!
